Some Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How much are dues?
A: Alumnae dues cover the cost of your national fees, local fees, and help defer the cost of some of our local events. We are offering 4 different dues levels this year.
Q: Do I have to attend every event?
A: NO- but we’ll miss you sister! Alumnae life is very different than collegiate life because we don’t have a points system, there isn’t an attendance policy, and nothing is mandatory. We come to events because we want to, they’re fun, and we enjoy the company of our sisters!
Q: I already have my crew, why should I join an alumnae chapter?
A: You’ll quickly see you will instantly connect with other alumnae of all ages because we’re sisters! Sometimes your collegiate friends live far, and while they’re only just a FaceTime away, this gives you a local support system you can rely on. You may even find there are local alumnae that are from your collegiate chapter! We also have working professionals from CEOs to Recruiters who are here to help you network!
Q: I’m nervous to come to my first event solo! What should I do?
A: Bring a ZTA sister with you- the more the merrier! I’m also happy to meet you for coffee so you at least have a person (think Meredith and Cristina) you know before coming to an event.
Q: What can I expect at an event?
A: Well that depends on if the event is at a venue or at someone’s house. One thing both have is sisterhood! If you’re going to an event at someone’s house we’ll likely hang around the kitchen island, talk about life/work, talk a little chapter business for a few minutes all while eating/drinking (yes- Alumnae love food as much as collegians do). Alumnae also host recruitment events but they’re MUCH different than collegiate events because our sisters are already sisters. Just like the above- we encourage dues paying members to bring other sisters along with the goal being for them to also pay dues so we can become an even stronger alumnae chapter.
